glasspacks



from my understanding, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm giving it a shot. I've taken it as they replace the resonator. They help control the rasp and the drone of the exhaust.

Can we get a pro to verify such info? haha

A lot of the guys have put them on, but with the sound they create, have taken them off and gone back to stock. They would increase performance, I'm not sure on what scale, I can't see it being anything drastically noticeable, but again, it will be louder than stock.

I personally want to put one on my car when I do the rest of the exhaust just for being loud's sake. If I don't like it... atleast I gave it a shot. haha
 


they give the exhaust a little more tone and growl, but i would never run one without mufflers. i ran one in replacement of a resonator before, though.

and just to tell you for the 15th time, you do not want your car to be LOUD. you want it so have a good exhaust note and not to drone. i cant see videos at work, but if that video is of a car driving around straight off the downpipe with no exhaust and you think it sounds good then you really need a good stern talkin' to.
 
i dont think me and you will ever agree hahaha but when you get home look at that video, idk whats goin on with his car but he revvs it at the end and i jizzed my pants.

Ya, I'm all for loud, but as Bio said, it's all about the tone and the drone. If you can get it loud to your liking while keeping the drone and tone under control.... then your laughing... but good luck : )
 
You want the longest possible glass pack in it if you do put one in. And for the love of god keep some kind of mufflers on it.
 
I agree with Bio.......on this subject. I have a glasspack on mine instead of a resonator. This is the only place that they should be used on a gp exhaust and WITH mufflers........also, make sure the glasspack is atleast 24" long.

are you serious...........that may have been the worst exhaust I have ever heard.......it had no tone to it.......just fail........straight and complete fail......there was NO positive thing at all with it. Why even have any exhaust at all?? You people need to find a rice place to hang out or something.........that does not belong on a grand prix.
 
i cant believe you seriously enjoy the sound of our cars straight piped. i just threw up a little in my mouth.
 


But in all reality I'm probably just gonna get different mufflers and maybe down the road glasspacks, but that's all. So eveyone chill out :D

No one is freaking out...we just all know what a straight piped 3800 sounds like even with good mufflers and that = crap. They sound horrible. IMO Mine is getting a high flow cat hopefully and new mufflers with this build I am working on too. I still have the stock GM resonator too...your car might sound nice at idle like all 3800 cars do. But anything after 2 grand it sounds like ass...no opinions about it.
