• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Getting To Know the Community - What do you do for a living

Well I have had a few things change over the year. I am going to Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls, SD for marketing. I would like to find a job doing promotions for a sports team somewhere but we will see about that. I am still working at the same job. Check us out at Karl's TV, Audio, Appliances and Furniture.

Lately I have been installing appliances more than before. Last thursday four of us went out and installed a washer, dryer, 2 dishwashers, built in microwave, warming drawer, $7000 fridge and a $9000 range in a HUGE house overlooking the Missouri river.

I enjoy delivering and installing appliances because it gets me out of the warehouse and get to drive around a bit. It really isn't too tough but sometimes you have to take doors off fridges, doors off houses and still things barely fit it.

I do landscaping for a living, it's pretty fun i really enjoy the out doors so it actually works out great for me, and the guy is selling his business mowers, trucks, accounts, etc... so i may hop on that so by this time next year i could be running my own business

Currently in between jobs (damn economy). Thought I was safe working for one of the largest companies in the nation..apparently not..bankrupt :p. Have a couple interviews coming up this week though.
I also do alot of computer work and networking on the side, hoping to turn it into a business and make a living off it one day. If anyone on here ever needs any help PM me, if you're not local I can do remote work too.

For some odd reason I now have "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits stuck in my head. :th_laugh-lol2:

Honestly though, I wouldn't mind that job... I've spent the last 9 years in cubicle hell.

I've been a 3d artist (and animator) for over 10 years... currently I'm head of the creative department at a company making video games in Toronto.

Yes... I play and make video games for a living. :D

Cheers,
Chris

Okay, lets learn a little about each other. Post up what you do for a living. Just what you do, maybe a little info on that but no salaries and all that stuff.

I'll start.
I am a Senior Repair Technician for Verizon (Not Wireless thank you very much). Basically I work on thinks like credit card lines, ATM lines (so if you cant ever get money out of the ATM or run your credit card, I might be to blame). I also work on National Weather Service stuff, FAA and Railroad lines. I used to work with the routers, channel units and other networking gear, but I do my work remotely now and send people out if needed.

one time a 20 popped out of an atm in front of me.. was that your work? lol

currently jobless cuz no1 in mchenry county "IL" seems to hire people anymore.... lol
I've been in the same boat for awhile, try looking around lake county too theres a bigger job market out there, I've got an interview soon at some doctors office.

I'm a 22 year old from India with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, but I decided I'd rather be a pilot. So here I am in SoCal learning to fly and hopefully get a job in a major airline once I'm done.
