• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Getting To Know the Community - What do you do for a living

Thank you to all who are serving and have served. I was in the Navy 30 years ago and did 4 on the Constellation as a Hull Technician: pipe fitter, welder, damage control, & firefighter. I worked in the oil field in the gulf of Mexico for 9 months as a deckhand when I was 20 just before the Navy, that was the hardest physical labor job I ever had! Today (for last 3 years) I am a crane electrical inspector for civil service, used to work for the base contractor as a crane electrician & elevator mechanic (20 yrs) and elevator inspector (3 yrs) prior to civil service.
I have been very blessed with all the jobs and opportunities over the years. My present job is the best I've had. I just find the problems and task the contractor to fix them. Also been blessed with a great wife and 3 teens.
Always wanted a muscle car and never had one, so my wife lets me toy with my '02 GTP. My next car will be an '05 or '06 GTO and the GTP will go to one of the kids.
Blessings to you all!

What years were you on the connie?

My pops did some time on her, his last sea duty was decomming the indy from japan to washington. he served 22.

I work with alot of active duty and law enforcement in my line of work, ive made quite a few friends thru my job and sold alot of stuff( at a unrefuseable price of course) to guys and 1 girl who are living out their lives in the middle east. I say if it wasnt for jus getting married and having two young children id be over there right now too. Its one of the best jobs in the world.

I'm a lot employee/Car detailer/all types of car dealership stuff like dealer trades, sold deliveries/online sales etc etc. For a Chevy Dealership in Minnesota. Pays the bills, and it's a free, heated, state of the art shop to work in whenever i want :)

I'm a senior customer service rep for a "personal emergency response" company. (Think "help, I've fallen and I can't get up.")

Been here for years, sitting in various cubicles.

On the side I've been working with a Pro Stock team that races at Thompson Speedway in CT. If I could do that full time I would, but that won't pay the bills, so I can't.

I manage a Parts City Auto Parts Store ( O'reilly's Jobber) and the attached Auto repair facility. Been wrenching professionally for about 25 years. Worked my way out of the shop and behind the counter, which in hindsight was not much of a promotion, staying clean is great but the rest of the job kind of sucks.

Hi, I am a Sports Investmnt Officer. People call in, think a team will win. Invest a sum, hope fully to win. They get there investment back. If lose, they lose investment, plus commission. Like investing in stocks.....

I'm a high school senior and work as 'Technology Support Technician' for the KS Dept of Commerce (it pays really well for an 18 year old). I leave for Ft. Rucker, AL in late May to finish up training. I'm a 15P (Aviation Operations Specialist) in the KSARNG and will be working with UH-60s until I get the degree and commission from Pittsburg State (KS) and have the chance to spend some quality time in the seat :) I've wanted to fly a Blackhawk since 4th grade when they landed one on the football field for some anti-drug thing.

Blackhawks are friggin awsome, I was around them alot while in the Army and a couple of years ago I was working at Sikorsky where they build them. It is the cleanest factory I have ever been in.

Used to be a chef but currently full time student for my Auto Master Tech Certification At San Jaoquin Delta College
And run a side job with 2 mechanics

I dont think I've seen any saw operators here..so I'll chime in. I work for a roof truss company named Sam Yoder and Son, Inc.
I run a $250,000 piece of crap lol...its called the "CyberSaw" its an automated saw used to cut the wood needed for the builders to do their job.
