Getting to '05 GP defogger relay

I think the relay on my '05 GT has blown. I know its behind the fuse box on the passenger side of the dash however I cant seem to find an easy way to get to the fuse panel behind the fuse panel where the defogger relay is.

Anyone has some pictures or best practices in getting to this relay? The owners manual makes out out like "just get to the relay behind the fuse panel" like it pops off.........

Also - can someone tell me what the relay/fuse is that I need to get to replace the current one?

What? The relay is right there in the passenger side fuse panel. What do you mean "fuse panel behind the fuse panel"?

The relay is the same one for the AC. You can swap the relays to test with. I thought my relay was bad as well, but I think the button is just bad for me. Swapped relays and saw no change.

I ran into this before and had a mechanic replace it. He actually couldnt get the fuse box opened all the way and had to pull a few things to get it out - it worked for a few months but now doesnt. I have a feeling that whatever mechanism turns off the defogger to ensure overheating is not working and hence the fuse/relay burnt out again. I believe this happened during the winter when it was -10 degrees I ran the remote start for 20 mins with no frost on the back window to warm the car up.

In this past post you can see the pictures of the 'fuse box':

The defogger fuse/relay is located behind the fuses you see in the picture. There is some way opening it up but its not apparent whats holding these together to get to the defogger fuse.

Ok - so if I pull the glove box I and look to the right I should be able to see the back side of that fuse box and get to the defogger one?

Ok so I broke into my GP's glovebox and I still find it hard to believe the fuse box was engineered this way...........I cant get to the fuse from the glove box, but I can get to a screw which holds to part the white wire panel connects to from behind. Unscrewing that allowed me to wiggle the fuse box out just enough to remove the defog relay............ I may have installed the new relay incorrectly so Im going to have to pull it again. Im now wondering if I just remove the screw on the white panel and then can easily pull the fuse box out to get it. That will be my next avenue. Of course I forgot to hook up the glovebox light :O

That's weird. I guess it was a couple of years ago now, but I thought I had direct access to it from there. At least you got the relay out.
