getting scratches out

well i paid a couple months ago to have my car detailed by someone ive been having do some exterior work for me. and i will say im quite pissed off. ive been noticing more and more scratches and swirls in the paint lately and its starting to look like ****. The guy wetsanded my paint, and it looks like it scratched it honestly, and bad in a couple spots. i just dont understand why i didnt notice it when i had it done. Is there any way to get this out besides repainting my car? I certainly dont want to invest $3000 in a new paint job.

use a one step Polymer sealant. if he did it with 2000 grit, its only in your clear coat. I have that stuff and its killer on swirls.

yeah, if he wet sanded it I doubt its passed the clear. After you wet sand the paint it def looks bad as if its scratched or needs to be re painted. I think the best bet is to use a higher grit sand paper and go over what he did just a little. Try getting it wet, if the paint looks normal when its wet, but scratches show when its dry then some Meg's ultimate compound will def get that out. I wet sanded a couple scratches on my car and used some touch-up paint, if your patient its really hard to make a mistake that will require something other than a little touch up paint. I have wet sanded before and noticed some swirl marks still show so I just went back with the Megs ultimate compound and it came right out.

Nu Finish Scratch Doctor in the orange bottle will get some of the swirling and surface scratches out really well... beyond that I don't know.. this is why I would NEVER pay anyone to detail my car/ I keep it in "just detailed" shape myself:th_thumbsup-wink:
