getting old coolant out

Okay I have my engine out of the car and we are working on that. But I want to now take the opportunity to get all of the old cooalnt out before putting the engine back in.

Engine - I figure that I will vacuum out the engine block the best that I can to get the coolant out of there. I am changing all the gaskets so when I take off the timing cover/water pump I should be able to empty that. The lower intake came off last night so tha will get emptied. Anything else I should do or tips on getting it all out of the block without being silly?

The radiator - I have emptied it but I think that it needs a good flushing. Should I pull it and take it to a radiator shop to have them flush it or is there an easier way? Keep in mind that I have well water so I would rather not use the garden hose.

Heater core - I was wondering if I can take distilled water and pour it into one of the hoses until it comes out the other hose? Again, the engine is out so I can run the heater..

Pull the knock sensors. Ensure you torque them to 14ft lbs as it effects teh sensitivity..but that's all you need to do.

On the rad, yeah I'd shop it in your situation. And def pour water through the heater core if you want to.

I just looked at ALLDATA and it says
IMPORTANT: Do Not apply thread sealant to sensor threads. The sensor is coated at factory and applying additional sealant will affect the sensors ability to detect detonation.

What is your take on that?

If you clean the old sealant off just apply a little liquid teflon to it. That's what I put on the sensors in my GTP when I had the motor out.
