• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Getting new subs want opinons.

wait, did Matt just say he wants his trunk back!?!?! :)

I thought you said sound was more important then storage, cmon now :)

Matt : did you ever find out what chip is in the stock GP radio? I'm still sorta curious if you ever get the time.

I don't have torx bits that small. :th_shakinghead2:

Having speakers in you trunk is stupid to begin with. It just rattles the trunk and doesnt get anything else done. Even with the pass-through open it still sucks.

Frequency response curve? Impedence curve? T/S specs?

Come on... unless you're going to just sit down and listen to them and compare, then why bother?

8 ohms nominal impedance? Why? That just means no power which means no dynamics... The flange on that thing is stupidly large.

Hehe, those tweeters say 200W on them, I've yet to see a tweeter actually handle more then 20-30W rms at the most before it cooks :)

Besides, 200W at 12KHz, cmon now :)

Isn't it whiney wilma?

Hey whiney...check my links in my sig. You'll find MORE links about car audio :D In the GPONA link I list a bunch for a bit more technical information.

Peter Euro is a smart guy but he's too negative for me. It's almost like he has a complex after reading some of his posts. Is he sore from not receiving more merit? Sorry Matt, I prefer to wade through BS vs. amplify their stupidity while being told why it's BS.

Why does he seem like he's attacking everybody?

What do you think a middle class person who sees fault in everything would do? :th_shakinghead1:

Thats pretty much what I make of him based on that site.

I prefer to hear negativity than blatant lies based on false assumptions.

I don't like negativity, but it seems to be the quick and simple way to get some feedback on some ideas you have for your car install.

Wade through the **** on there, find out what seems to work and what doesnt. Then you're in good shape to create a thread and see what others there have to think about it.

When you're asking the right questions, you're not going to get that same negative vibe that the place seems to be filled with.

I guess what I meant by "wade through the bs" is that I feel I'm intelligent enough to realize when somebody is an idiot with a large vocabulary :)

Kinda like when people talk about the pressure from their subs building up to a point where it audibly changes the sound of their rear deck speakers or even help the speaker to incur damage just because it's close to the sub. That's not to be confused with the idea of subs sharing common air space while playing stereo vs. mono.

But remember, theory and common practice is thrown out in a way when it comes to car audio. It's not just near field; it's reflections!! CA will always be trial and error until somebody creates a standard interior design.

hey not sure bout any of those i am running 2 12 inch p2's from rockford fosgate and they are the hardest hitting subs i have ever heard dont know if u were only thinking of those brands but from my experience i like the fosgates

Ha I hear ya.

Different learning methods for different folks. :th_jester:

Removing the influence of reflections should be your goal.

It greatly helps everything.

KICKER no question about it...they have rubber surround not foam, they r double stitched not glued, the design in the middle is funtional so little distortion, and they r incredibly hard to blow, i overpowered mine by 300 true watts for 16 months n never had a problem best subs ive ever owned
