Getting a clunky marble sound under hood

It kinda sounds like marbles being spun around in a can, hitting each other. Well...its hard to explain really. Kinda like clunking gear type sound and i'm almost positive it's coming from inside the supercharger. I have a 2000 GTP with 130,000 miles, anything familiar?

You can get replacement kits from Rolling Performance.net

Don't use RTV on the snout, it's a special anaerobic gasket maker you need that comes with the kit.

Mine had the same problem 113k miles - I was SHOCKED how quiet the car was once again.

2 words F ZZP, get one off ebay, they are going for 20 bucks there vs 40 at zzpoop.

get 2 bottles of GM supercharger oil, from the dealer.

drain the snout first, ( some plugs are a t-35 and others have a Allen key) you can use a old spray bottle, stick the tube in the hole there, and spray it into the spray bottle, to empty it.

i'd wear some latex gloves too, the old oil stinks like hell, and dont wash off so good.

i laid some rags down too, under it to catch what you cant pump out.

and a can of brake cleaner to clean up the inside of the snout, and the case side.

and i cant remember the stuff is called to seal the snout back up, i used high heat black rtv, but others will say to use the right stuff. mines been holding for over a year now, so its up to you. witch ever you use, use just a smear of it, you dont want it oozing all over the place, a little goes a long way.

It may just be that your can of marbles need to be changed. After a certain amount of miles the sound deadning marble jelly goes away thus producing the noise.

on the other hand it may be what the other guys said:th_laugh-pointup:

I got mine from ZZP. Wish I went a cheaper route now. I know Wbodystorehas them and free shipping right now. I just wouldnt buy OEM.
