• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hey all!

Just bought and just joined the group! :th_thumbsup-wink: I just picked up a loaded, black, 1999 Grand Prix GT, with 130,000 on it. It will replace my 2007 Jeep Compass when the lease is up. I do not want a car payment anymore and why drive new for a 12 mile round trip for work?

Anyway, I am way into cars and my pride and joy is my 1998 Corvette 6-speed. It is making 330 HP and 340 lbs ft torque at the rear wheels, dyno'ed two years ago. Approx 380 at the crank. I also am a moderator at corvettemechanic.com

Anyway this site is not about that car, I have a load of questions about my GP and look forawrd to talking cars with all of you!

No pics of my GP yet as I am still working on it. Need to buff it out again, change the fuel filter, replace the broken front sway bar, replace the drivers side door actuator and a couple more things. No one touches my cars but me and the warranty on them is me and my tools. :th_laugh-lol2: Between my tools and my Tech II, there is nothing I can't do! :th_peaceout:

X2^^

Welcome!! Nice 'Vette too, next car might just be a C5 Z06 :D Buddy is REALLY talking me into it...

Thanks for the welcome you two!

Well I replaced the door actuator and the drivers door lock will still not lock with the remote, the door button or putting it into drive. It will unlock, but never lock. I swear I saw it lock once though, very slowly. Not sure what is going on there and I will post in the appropriate forum, as this one probably is not right.

And bluegtp91, you can't go wrong with a C5 Z06! For the money, it is a great buy. My car has some Z06 parts on it and I paid $20K for it 5 years ago. I am sure prices have dropped even more on all C5's. These cars depreciate so much, then stop, but that depreciation is just the reason how I could afford one! I did not buy it for an investment, I drive the car!
