• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Geriatric mods

At first I thought you were gonna run over the curb when you turned because I didn't know you were pulling over lol.

That would be the old person thing to do! I figured the white truck person would jump out and I'd just miss my green arrow but then once I had it and there was room for the GTP I went for it.

Such a good samaritan. It makes me feel good when I can help people out on the road.

I took the unplug option in the vid, for auto on. Thanks again, BB! I've had the GTP two years and have concentrated on making it work like its supposed to. Like I did with the GT for 4 before it got KO-ed. Anyway maybe this is the year I start making them act like I want them to. Its about time.

Liking my car better already. Thanks for the help guys. I guess next thing is to pull the console bezel and see what evil I can unhook there. Fn cold even in the garage though, whew.
Did you unplug the under dash connector or the fuse itself?

So just to be sure, unplugging these three things isn't going to cause anything else to not work or do anything weird right?

I have noticed no side effects. Gotta keep your head in the game daily though, and turn those headlights on and off when needed or required by law.

Is this the plug on the side of the dash?

I tried the unplug option for a day. I missed having the lights flash with the alarm. Therefore, I tried the 'pull the yellow wire' method and it works like a charm. Headlights do not flash with the alarm or turn on with twilight sensor. However, the parking lights do flash with the alarm and they come on with the twilight sensor, which is fine for me. I just have to turn the headlight switch to turn on the headlights. This should help prolong the life of my HID headlights. I already burned up one ballast from the headlight flash, I suspect.

Thanks all for sharing this information!

Glad to help. I remember the agony of trying to figure this out back in the day.

I did this mod years ago when I still used the factory alarm. The funny thing is that all was well for about a year, then all of a sudden the park lights would "auto on", day or night. I've learned to live with it and like having the park lights now act as DRL's. LOL

I have thought about re-connecting the yellow wire and then unplug the module to totally disable the auto lights.
