General Gen. V blower swap questions

There is a pretty good writeup on the other forum, but I am looking for some more info.

Will a Gen.V with aftermarket fuel rail provisions, fullsize 2.5" intercooler, ZZP N* adapter, and 2000+ N* throttle body clear the factory hood? I read that the adapter plate and throttle body needs to be flipped?

Also, with the 97 alt and bracket, will I have issues? Supposedly this combination causes issues. If you have made it work with a 97 or 98, post up please!

Thanks.

what year is your car? the throttle body should clear the hood, i have a N* on mine and i have no issue. are you running an intercooler?

X2, are you going to run an intercooler? The clearance gets VERY close when it comes to the N* adapter. Also flipping it upside down helps with the running of the throttle body cables IIRC.

On your other question: yes you will run into problems with a 97-98 alternator. I suggest upgrading to 99+ for the swap

Updated first post, sorry I should have been more specific.

I have a Stage II Gen III intercooler, which raises everything 2.5".

I don't think it will fit without flipping it over. Even WITH flipping it over it will be a tight fit.

And yes, he should switch to the 99+ setup IMO

is the gen V taller than the gen III???

some guys intercooler set ups fit, some dont. small fabrications or just a bigger hood is nessicery.

I came across this pic on Dubob's website thats dedicated to his GP.

It looks a little bit taller, its definitly bigger but its hard to tell with it bolted to the LIM.
