gen v swap

so im going to swap out my old gen lll for a gen v on monday (i hope). I have been looking this up for a couple weeks now and got some good info. parts i have so far is

_ genv
-s/c gasket
-lower intake gasket
-fuel injetor O rings.
-supercharger oil
-t/b adapter
( is there any thing else i need?
now i bought it off a friend of a friend and its in great shape but it didnt come with the gen v stock bolts are they bigger then the gen 3 bolts?
also theres a stock pully on there how low OF A PULLY CAN I GO TO i have -cat-back-slp headers-overkill pcm-K&Ncai-180* and i run only 93 oct
 


you have the Gen V LIM as well right?

You might need some stuff to run new vac lines since the stuff is different.
 
oh man, you NEED the Gen V/ L32 lower intake manifold else it wont work at all.

call up your buddy and tell him you need that part ASAP.
 


you dont need a L32 LIM, you can open your stock L67 LIM, just trace the gasket.

i would also recommend closing off your coolant ports in the LIM
 


well he's already got the LIM so he's good and why in the **** would you block off the coolant ports in the LIM? thats how the coolant gets between the two heads...
 
Your going to need more flow mods. That thing is going to have more knock than before because the GenV is more efficient than the GenIII...an SLP catback isn't a flow mod either...the weak spot is the manifolds/DP/U-bend...I'd get the GenV and put headers on it at the same time...like the Speed Daddys...they are less than $250 and then you never have to worry about flow mods.
 


A couple of the Gen V bolts are different enough that you will need new ones, but most can be reused.

Gen III
1 - M8x1.25x85
1 - M8x1.25x65
8 - M8x1.25x45

Gen V
1 - M8x1.25x140
1 - M8x1.25x120
1 - M8x1.25x80
7 - M8x1.25x40

You will also need to deal with the PCV system. You need to drill and tap the brass plug on the bottom of the throttle body and run a line from there up to the inlet of the PCV system on the blower.

You'll need to block off the inlet for the Gen V's EVAP system, since the Gen III uses a totally different system.

It's an extremely common thing to do, better to not have hot coolant running through the blower and tb to heat things up. Only a little bit of the coolant for the rear head runs through there, most of it runs directly to the rear head. If you want to increase flow through the other passage, just take off the plate on the LIM below the TB and grind it out a bit.
