Gen v swap issues

Jomamma

pssssshhhhhhtt
The gen v is finally on.I have 2 main concerns.
1) I'm not making any boost my aeroforce says 1lb max
2) I'm over heating. I removed the thermostat because I'm pretty sure it wasn't opening up. *But it's still running hot.

It idles fine. I'm using the stock gen v evap. And i tapped the tb and ran a line to the nipple on the supercharger.

Ok, you Gen v'd... what was your previous setup? Which parts did you reuse. Did you get the cooling system to burp and take about a gallon or two?

Previously I was just a stock l67

The only thing I reused was the stock throttle body.

Im using the gen v BBV, vacuum tree, and lim.

I couldn't get the damn thing to burp. I put the un mixed stuff in, 1 entire bottle of that. Then I could only get a little less than half the water needed in there. I had it jacked up and everything. And only water came out of the bleeder valve.

1.5 gallons is around the right amount. So that should be good. Toss a new thermostat in there. Start it.. turn it off.. check it like that a few times.

Boost.. did you use a different soleniod or the one from your old Gen 3? Swap it if you used a different one.

Are you talking about the boost by pass valve? If so I'm using the gen v one.

Wheres the solenoid located.

Right in front of the valve.

The round can wtih the rod is the valve. aka Boost Control Actuator
The little rectangle with the electrical plug is the Boost Control Soleniod

If you used the soleniod from the gen V..swap your old one on..

when I did my genV swap I had to use my genIII version as I was only getting ~2psi wot. Give that a shot. Did you check for vac leaks?

I'm probably going to do that but I'm more worries about the over heating issue.

Or if it's an issue at all. Gotta figure out which gauge is lying to me

You may have messed up the coolant temp sensor in the LIM, or have a wire shorted out. Check your connection at the sensor and where that harness ties into the main harness near your oil cap.

Sent from my SkyRocket

I replaced the coolant sensor when I did the swap... I broke the old one.

The gen v is hot to the touch which I'm pretty sure is abnormal, am I right?

No, Im ICed and mine still gets pretty warm to the touch. I have and always will trust my aero over my gauges. Id say you have a bad temp sensor/was installed improperly.

If I am not mistaking the l67's use two different temp senders. I think one for the computer/fans and another for the gauge. I may be wrong though.

The aeroforce is reading the correct temp.

If my motor was really at 260 the temp light would be on and I would be getting a code.
