Gen V supercharger

Hey There ,

Talking about the rotor “coating” in the gen V Superchargers, Does mileage Affects the coating ?

I ask because I am looking for a good supercharger and searching on Car-parts.com, I can find only units with more than 200k miles.

also, is that important the coating in the supercharger performance ?

It may sound like a weird question, but since I am a few thousand miles away from USA, I want to buy a good unit, or at least the best used i can find.....

GenV is likely to still have it's coating over 200k, not so much with the GenIII. When I did the top swap I was really worried about having the coating on my 3, so I bought two units because the first one I mistakenly cleaned off all the coating thinking it was carbon. To be fair, it was flaking off pretty easy. Anyways, pulled my blower after maybe 15k and the rotors were bare again, probably from spraying water/meth. Never noticed a decrease in performance.

Basically, I'm sure it's there for a reason but when it's not there, there are really no negative side effects. Maybe a couple HP on a Dyno? Probably less than the margin of error.

what he said, also, check out lkqonline, they have great prices on gen 5 superchargers. I got mine for 100 bucks shipped in the US.
