Gen V supercharger and SSIC sealing issues.....heeeeelp!!

And alot more people have had more success with just using RTV. It's warped, most intercoolers are but if you want to use baking sheets on your car its all good.

Silicone material is silicone material. If you wanted, you could have ordered it in a normal sheet but it would have cost more. Baking sheet was the perfect size to make the gasket from.

You'll never get it to seal. My SS I/C core was warped to high hell from ZZP as well. ****ty core for sure...:th_shakinghead1:

Sell it and get a fullsize. That's the only hope.

So then how is it that I had it sealed once before? I had this exact setup installed for about 2 years before I tore it apart to polish the blower.

That's what I'm sayin'...it will seal the first time you install it. After you take it off or take the blower off, it's a nightmare in a hand basket.

The first time I installed mine, it sealed fine. Took my blower off to check the rotors and clean it up a bit, put it back on, never sealed again. It's now sitting in the garage with a big piece cracked off because when I torqued the blower the core snapped. And that wasn't even at full torque specs in the proper order...

Damn , this is upsetting. This might possibly be my problem. Not only that, but my Laptop with my Powrtuner on it took a **** on me :( Epic FAIL.

You can clearly see where the piece completely snapped off...I was torquing the blower...not even at full specs yet...heard a crack. Backed off, took off teh blower and the entire piece broke off.

take it to a machine shop, and check and see if its completely flat while youre waiting for the gaskets to ship. worst case they'll put it on the belt and sand it nice and flat for a leak free seal

Well, that's my game plan right now. I'm going to go ahead and find a local machine shop that will do this for me, see how much it will cost.

But in the mean time I may start looking for full size components

Hmm... the phenolic version i made for a guy on this forum didnt have any sealing issues. He used the silicone gaskets.

Huh? I make the intercoolers. Tdcracing turned out to be a scammer. I used to sell my cores through him till i found out that he was out to rip people off.
