Gen V supercharger and SSIC sealing issues.....heeeeelp!!

So is 16"X12" big enough or do I need to find larger?? I think the gasket is quite long and wide.

Alrighty, I'm all for tryin something new, lets see where this adventure takes me!! LOL. What gasket did u use as a template? Garlock or OEM??

Shouldnt matter whatever you have lying around. They are all the same lol. Just make sure you cut the blower outlet to reflect the ssic.

Ahhh, okay so blower outlet to reflect SSIC, thats for the upper gasket I would assume. Any other tips??

Nope. Just make the gasket, lol. And that would be for both gaskets. You have your gen5 machined to open up the outlet, correct?

No, no machining done to my Gen V . I have the older style SSIC core. Don't have the $$ to do any machining either, LOL.

okie dokie smokie! Placed my order, we'll see how this goes, and I will be sure to document it for all those watching at home.

So now onto the torque sequence, does anyone have the illustration as to which to torque first and such

Maybe it's just the polish in me, but I always get fuked up and never end evenly, I always have two bolts to tighten on the DS of the blower.

what are you guys even talking about?

Mini-chopper, thank you very much for your assistance. Like I said I'll definitely keep a photo record of how things go.

As for the last two replies, great way to contribute guys! I'm familiar with the general consensus of the garlock's, but a few people in my exact situation have had more success with the garlock than the OEM.

And alot more people have had more success with just using RTV. It's warped, most intercoolers are but if you want to use baking sheets on your car its all good.

Well Silverstreak, unfortunately you weren't here in NY by my side when I tried:

1 - two OEM L32 stock gaskets with a small amount of RTV around edge

2 - Two OEM L32 gaskets with a **** ton of RTV

3 - Just RTV, no gaskets

See, I've been through this three times already. I understand that people have had luck with just RTV, but I haven't.

There is a very very small mating surface in the area in which I have the leak, I am guessing this is where my problem lies.

You said Garlock or OEM...I've used both...Garlock gaskets don't seal for crap...with or without RTV...I've had them. HORRIBLE.

Gotchya, thanks for the input bluegtp. I was never a fan of the garlock either to be honest with you. I installed one on a friends GTP and had sealing issues as well.
