Gen 3 Supercharger Question?????

Does anyone know what the metal vacuum tube thing is/what it does that bolts right next to the bypass actuator.

I bought a used supercharger from ebay, supposedly it was from a buick, i compare it with the one on my grand prix and it doesn't have that vacuum thing.

Idk if i can just remove the tube and epoxy the hole closed.

I have a picture but dont know how to post pics.

Please Help Thanks
