Gas Pumps

Abrasive

I say it with pictures
Optimus Christ! Could we please calibrate these things to better function with the higher gas prices. I tried 4 times tonight to stop at an even number, no dice. One little click of the lever sends it 2-3 cents everytime. Remember when you could hold down the handle and go 1 cent at a time? I gave up at $30.01... and that was in my Escort with a tiny gas tank.

:p

Poor-poor Jay. Somebody needs a hug. :D

When I fill up, I round off the gallons not the price. It helps the secretaries figure the total gallons used each month easier.

But in my car, yes, round the dollars off if I can. Sometimes certain pumps are touchier than others. I know what you mean, and feel your frustration.

hahahahaha........I have no problem rounding to the nearest dollar. I just run the car till both low fuel lights are on......Swipe the plastic, start the gas going, and it stops automatically at %50.00 (since the only station with 93 only preapproves $50.00)

Its almost full, but I am not going to swipe the card again for another 3 to 5 bucks.

I have one on the DIC (Range Low), One on the heads up display (fuel pump symbol) and one on the dash (Low Fuel)...

I guess pontiac wanted you to know, but my dumb a$$ ran out of fuel once trying to stretch it on a road trip.....that sucked. (Ask Sheryl about Rolla, MO.)

Ive only done that once and it was in the wifes Grand Am, 1/2 mile from a gas station. If her eyes had been lasers I would have been sliced ham as she called AAA.

Yea, I know what you mean......I was driving from Jersey to Arkansas (I was living in Jersey at the time) and there are no Sonic's in Jersey. I was looking for a exit with a Sonic and a gas station and wound up being about 2 miles to short. Got off at the exit before when the car sputtered, and made it to the off ramp before it died.

Needless to say, I always have at least a 1/2 tank of gas when going thru Rolla, MO now.....

My gas gauge hasn't worked in a year, only time it registers is when full. I just go off number of miles, and fuel used (I never let any car go below a quarter tank replaced too many fuel pumps from it on customer cars)

I must be one lucky dude.....I have almost 150K miles on mine and still has the original fuel pump. Been running it to 1/8 of a tank or less for 5 years. The running joke between me and the Mrs. is how much fuel I can put in a 17.5 gal tank....my record to date is 17.8 gallons...hahaha

Nah man, that aint nothing. My work truck holds 90 gals. With the engine running, I put in 97.2. My boss swore up and down I stole gas. How could I, I have a gas powered car with me, and the truck takes diesel.

that pump must have ben way out of calibration. i cant see the fuel lines and the filler neck holding an extra 7 gallons

I am proud to say I have never once ran out of gas(knock on wood)...though I have once or twice sputtered into the station
