Gas Prices!!!

That may be true, but it balances out on the front end because you buying the gas cheaper than what you sell it for on the front end as the price is going up. You buy it at $1.40 per gallon, but then the price jumps $0.10/gal so you sell it at $1.50/gal.

Now I dont know about the independent owners today, my parents owned a convenience for a number of years as well where they had 6 pumps I believe, but in the larger chains the price is set more from a corporate office. I would imagine they also have larger tanks in the ground as well but I dont know that for a fact, and that would certainly create more of a buffer particularly if gas prices go up significantly in a short period of time.

Basically it would balance out, but it would most certainly be over a long period of time.

It dropped from $4.29 to $1.49 within about two months, I highly doubt we'll make the money from that time back anytime soon.

Yeah Gas prices are going down in my area, but then again it IS winter and not many people buy gas/drive hummers and big gas eaters. But the oil companies are in panic about the price per barrel of oil it has decreased sharply (not because we are spending less on gas even though that is a reason) but because they are producing more. Plants in Ontario, and northern Canada have pulled back production on average 100-150 million barrels a day, to drive prices back up. Then they will increase, then decrease then increase then decrease in a never ending cycle trying to reach an equilibrium.

If I had a draw tool I would show you, but in reality they make more money this way and never want to reach a steady barrel output:th_king-evil:

Cost of a barrel of gas has dropped $7 in like a week. And guess what? Gas was up 10 cents a gallon. So yeah, I think they'll make it back. Prices are gonna be up for Christmas, then drop back down afterwards. Simple supply/demand kicking in.

1.69 for sunoco 93 :D

We own a Sunoco :D.

They dropped like two and a half dollars, sometimes we lost like $0.70 at a time on each gallon. We probably won't make it back but as long as the prices stay pretty stable we'll be good.

yea price for sunoco 93 in huntington,wv is 1.79 if u drive just 10 miles across state lines to kentucky where the ashland oil plant is its 1.39 its ridiculos i think there should be a nationaly set price that way nobody can ***** about having it worse than anyone else tonite me and a friend(an srt-4 owner:th_thumb-down:) were doing the math compared to this time last year with prices at 3.80+ and the price per barrel then compared to the price per barrel now and the prices should be somewhere around 0.74 a gallon its just crazy i get about 24 mpg out of my gtp if i keep my foot out of it(which doesnt happen much) and i drive 10 mile to school and another 30 to work all in all i drive about 100 miles a day which would equal 700 miles a week minus the weekend joy riding so i typically buy about 32 gallons a week 32x(3.80-0.74)x4=thats $390 im getting jewed out of every month by oil companies:th_scratchhead: i say we all band together and exact our revenge on these companies executives :th_laugh-pointup: haha

Filled up with 92 yesterday, $1.75. I'll probably be putting in a full tank of 87 in a day or so, hope to find somewhere under $1.50.

The gas stations around here are all priced different. It's anywhere from $1.41-$1.69 for 87. Right around the corner from us at one station its $1.66and the other station is $1.69, about 5 miles from us its $1.41.
