It's not gonna happen the first time dude. You have to do it consistently and what you're forgetting is when people sit in traffic, the car is at operating tempature vs firing up the car when the engine is cold. Emission system is in closed loop when it's not at operating tempature and it's in open loop at op tempI can't bring myself to even believe that. It really makes no difference if I went out and put my keys in the ignition and let it run for 20+ min, it's not going to damage the converters anymore than just regular run time. I've worked on company vehicles and seen several police cars will north of 4,000-5,000 idle hours and the cats are still doing fine, sure the odd one fails here and there though.
