Alright guys, a buddy of mine has an 04+ Grand Prix (not sure what year) and said he had randomly lost 1/8 of a tank of gas. I know it's only had the typical oil change and no other significant routine maintenance done and it also has 230k miles on it... lol. I'll try and get more info on it tomorrow. Any ideas though?
 


did he park on hill? need more info. is it hitting the ground, can he smell it? or is it just drinking it?

1/8 th of a tank is hard to say hey look its gone.
 
Well your not giving us any info...

So I'm just going to say check for signs of a leak Or smell of gas... If none of those then he probably doesn't need to be concerned about losing 1/8 of gas
 
Well you know the deal you've been here long enough...


Provide us good information and we can suggest what could be the issue. Provide us we little to know info and well we"ll just be throwing out guesses. The least thing you could of told him to do is check what the CEL is for...
 
I'll check with him tomorrow. I can't recall what all he said because we talked this morning before school. I'll post more info when I have it
 


He said he checked and didn't smell anything and that he also had a check gas cap light??? Either way, he said the fuel level hasn't gone up or down so everything seems to be fine.

Gas gremlins. Huge problem. Please quarantine the car for now.
