Gas gauge issue?

It's Slow
So when I start my car on a cold start, the gas gauge shows under E and all the lights pop up after a few seconds of idling. Once I start driving, the gauge goes to the correct level. When I'm going up a hill, the gauge will fly up to nearly close to full, probably three quarters full, when I'm going up probably a 30 degree incline and the tank is really less than a quarter full. What could my issue be?
 


Sending unit time.

Its a common "GM thing" Trail blazers/Envoys, Safari/Astro vans, Montana and its sister van Full size pickups, S-series, all have the same basic type of Sending unit and pump assy.

There is a replacement part you can get at the parts store for under $30. Installs on your pump assembly in the tank. Removal of the pump assy from the tank is required.
