• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Garrett 50 Trim

I use truck turbos fairly successfully. As far as common gas turbos, I don't think there is such a thing. The factory grand national turbo may work, but it is also fairly similar to a m90 in terms of flow.

with the "truck turbos", at what rpm is full boost? I dont want something with alot of part throttle boost, I have a 3500 stall.

well lets say that with the "truck turbo" holset hx35 on a 2.0 or 2.3 liter 4g63, it hits full spool with a t3 housing at abour 3k-3200 rpm. you are pushing almost twice the flow capability with almost double displacement, so i would assume that you would be getting full spool potential around mid 2k rpm range. believe me, a holset hx40 would be deadly on a 3.8 liter...hitting a lot of boost at 2600rpm and full peak psi by 4400rpm, insane! i dont think that transmission will hold up too long with a holset on it...better talk to triple edge about a custom jobby

and the hx turbos flow from 54lb min of air to say, 65 or so for 7 blade billet hx40 compressor. just saying, thats a lot of air...

HX40s come on mostly commercial diesels, there are tons and tons of different low volume vehicles that use them. I would say far equipment is your best bet.

HX35's come on the very common 5.9 dodge cummings turbo diesel. Many of these around, and the turbos have been constantly developed in the 20 years that they have been using them on the dodge's. Get the newest style stuff you can find, any of it will work, even the VGT version if you wanted to get fancy.

my advice is to troll on cumminsforum.com and buy one cheap there. they have them from 200-500 bucks all the time...
