• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Well step one of the modding stage...decided against spending $200+ on a FWI so I did it for $35.

-Basic cone filter $25
-Roof flashing from Ace $8
-1 extra clamp that I didn't need $2
-parts left over from a old intake Free =]

Mocking everything up using 3 pieces from my old CAI from my old 2005 goat.

First try mock up..I didn't like the cheesy white and the bumps..even if I painted it I decided this looked cheap..

2nd mock up..MUCH better..:th_thumbsup-wink: It has one extra small bend compared to the first mock up but it should flow smoother and looks a LOT better IMHO..

I still need to get something to keep the flashing sealed up tight against the fender, other than that I'm happy for my first mod. I'd say this was $35 well spent...Ohhh btw I had a cone filter pretty much attached to the throttle body before..a hot air intake, the ram style..It made the blower wine a lot more than the stock box...now that the filter sits in the fender..it's a LOT louder haha.:th_peaceout:

put some self tapping screws through the flashing into the fender, then shoot em with some black spray paint so you dont see the heads

Yes I know that part makes it look kind of cheesy. I already made 3 trips to ace deciding what I wanted to buy haha...so next time I go I'll pick up a 3 1/2"-4" coupler to replace that. So thats another $8 to make it complete and legit..

Because I sold it..I had to. I was 18 paying a $420 car payment + $120 a month for car insurance...trust me I wish I still had the car..It went a best of 12.9 @110 bone stock and I have the slip and other gto board members to back it up lol..got it up to 162mph on 2 different occasions.

The GTP is my 7th car lol..

Relax I'm working on it..and that's not entirely true..This intake is replacing my 'old' ram style I had on it..the one that I ran the time in my sig...this one will be drawing nothing but cold air..when I fix that piece not only will it flow the same as my ram style it will draw in the air from the fender..the #1 point I'm switching..

Ohhh and btw even with that stock cruddy piece it flows the same because my boost #'s didn't change..if it were in fact more restrictive the gauge shoulda showed some higher numbers...I think anyway..

Ohhh and about my insurance, the GTP costs me about $50 a month..compared to $120 for me thats high..this was also 4 1/2 years ago guys

Well what was your 60 ft time?

The HAI's flow best but suffer from slightly higher intake temps that can cause up to two degrees of timing being pulled during your launch.

14.6 is already faster than most IIRC

yes, while a cold air wont flow as well as a short ram due to lenght and bends of the pipe and will take more fuel to combust. in other owrds there are pros and cons to each its all inprefernce really, just as long as you make the best of your intake

Thanks for the tips guys I think my 60' was a 2.3 or a 2.2 sec something like that. I pretty much floored it right before the light went green with my foot still on the brake.

I'm 22 now when I had the GTO I was 18, my insurance was $120 a month then with that car, I bought it with 4 miles on the clock. The GTP I got over 1 1/2 years ago, my insurance now is like $50 a month

No bs here, I now have a clean driving record, I still live with my mom and she takes care of all that...I know for a fact it's under $100..And yes I live in Grayslake I ran all my cars at Da Grove lol.
