fuel system?

How does the fuel system in the gtp work? I heard its a 2 speed fuel pump. What tells the fuel pump when to switch speeds? Its suppose to switch speeds when the sc kicks in. This is all that I know... Somone help me out
 


does anybody know the fuel pressures of these cars? cause 48-55 in normal mode and 48-55 in high mode makes no sense...
 
GTP=Two speed Fuel pump When the engine is Idling or normal speed condition the PCM turns on the Pump relay which passes current thru a resistor which drops voltage to the pump. Under high load/WOT/Fuel enrichment it bypasses the Relay/resistor and provides full voltage to the pump. Two speed isnt for performance iots for reduced noise and Extended life of the pump

ok so what your saying it doesnt raise the fuel pressure...Cause im asking about is fuel pressure to see if my system is working properly...cause if i bypass the resistor, fuel should change shouldnt it?
 
The regulator controls fuel pressure. Bypassing the low speed will have no effect on performance, just pump life and sound. Because more fuel will be returning on the return line I suppose its possible the fuel my get hotter. You should have 42psi regardless of pump speed at idle under vacuum
 
Ok so all I needed to know was does it effect pressure...because from what I read everyone makes it out as if that's what it does. And no need for the link..as I said before, I have plenty of experience with cars, just not gtps....the whole reason I come to this forum. Thanks for the feedback.

if u did u would know that any fuel pressure regulator will keep a constant pressure unless the fuel pressure went rediculiously above norm or below regulator setpoint...u knew the answer already if your above statement is true...second who is the everyone u refer to as everyone has been stating the opposite
