Fuel pump primes, no pressure

So yesterday I drove the car fine, no problems what so ever. Today nothing just crank crank crank. So car has spark, check. Fuel pump primes when on ACC, check. No pressure at fuel rail on acc or crank. Fuel filter is the culprit?

Just want to double check before I waste money on something that isnt needed.

The guy I bought it from said he replaced it already, cant be more than 2 years old. I guess pull the filter and A. blow and see if it comes out, or B. pull filter and turn to acc and see if fuel gushes out :th_thumbsup-wink:

Cheap pumps fail pretty quick, I highly doubt all of a sudden the filter became clogged enough to cause zero pressure

mine did the same thing almost when you first started it it ran so so i could drive it a mile or so the fuel pressure fell to 5 to 10ps then the car fell on its but your fuel pump is probably junk get a gauge and try it mine was coming on and runing and still was junk replaced it the car runs like a bat of you know what now

Even if it whines ugh. 10:30 at night, im gonna go jack the dam car up and see. I wont be able to sleep otherwise. If its the fuel pump, then I aint gonna go to sleep:th_shakinghead2:

Got the filter off and I can blow through it with a little resistance so thats good. Pump spins but no gas comes out of the lines. I hit the gas tank and that sounds empty. Maybe someone siphoned me I dont know.

And to top it off, I lost the dam line lock that keeps the hose onto the filter:th_angry2:. If I cant find it tmw in the day light can I just buy those seperate or if that a "comes with new line only" deal?

Once I got that locked on, Im going to get 5 gallons of gas dump it in and see if thats the case. If not then Im going on welfare, not working dont pay nothing and got no money from no working

spray some starer fluid in the intake, or some gas if you got a squirt can of some sort, if it starts up for a second or 2 its the pump, or relay, don't unhook the filter and turn it on, thats a mess, or test the fuel pressure at the fuel rail.

and most of the time, even if your car is running still, if you remove the fuel filter you cant blow through it, if is got some time on it already. you cant blow 40 psi worth of pressure, lol

So far it only seems I can buy the fuel line disconnect itself and not just the retainer inside. If true how hard is it to take the one off and put the other one without destroying the rubber line?

bought one for mine on ebay with a lefetime warranty for 65 dollars

.... the gas tank was empty, put in 4.7gallons via container and she runs:th_shakinghead2:

Maybe just possibly I should invest in a locking cap...

a new filter is 10 bucks, just replace it. and i would invest in a small midget with an ak47, as an antitheft device.

Running the pump with low tank of gas can kill these pumps as well. They are cooled in the canister by gas, when you get below 1/4 tank it may suck the canister dry/low sometimes while the car still runs, the pump is intermittently heating up.

well then I guess i dang ran out of fuel haha. Note to self when at 1/4 tank look for rip off station:th_thumbsup-wink:
