Fuel Pump or Filter?

Holy S@!t That was the problem. Car started up and away I went. Now does this mean the resistor is bad and I need to get a new one? Thanks all for the help

well from what i've read your answer is no, all this does is lets the fuel pump cycle between low and high duty, without the resistor the pump defaults to high duty. It sounds like all it will do is maybe put some more strain on your pump but i doubt it will ever cause an issue. I'm not doing anything but leaving it as is.

you mean your going to run your car with the tab bent or you arent going to install the kit? I'm still debating on what to do

yea, all we've done is removed the option of the fuel pump to operate in low speed, which doesn't really matter. The injectors will spray the proper amount of fuel no matter what is running through the fuel lines as long as its above 50 lbs. or so, so the pump operating in high speed wont do anything negative since the injectors will still spray the correct amount regardless, or you did was get rid of something thats virtually worthless. Kinda like getting rid of your EGR and Evap, it doesn't really matter or have ANY ill effects on the car

If you google fuel pump recall for 97 gtp there is a 16 page gm document # 810671 telling all about it and why it happens. I am going to try at my dealer to see if they will honor it.

Help me please!! I have the same problem in my 2000 Grand Prix Gt. Low idle then cuts out... So I went to bend the tab on #15 but to my surprise I dont have a resistor #15!! its nothing there! I have a resister #14 which is for the fuel pump I believe. But # 15 I have t resistor there its empty. Im not sure if I remember one ever being there. Should I buy 1 at auto zone?! Thank YOu any help will be appreciated

not sure but i think your looking at relays not resistors. the resistor is a little block of ceramic with wires running to it on the passanger side just in front of the frnt wheel well. dont start bending tabs n sh*t. could cause more problems in the future. do the job right not half ass. replace the resistor
