Fuel pump maybe?? Need advice!!

Hello,
I need some advice if anyone cares to give it. I have an 2008 Grand Prix with about 91,000 miles, the other day it would not start so I had it towed home. When I got it home it started now it runs rough and seems like it wants to quit. I have only driven it less than a mile from from home. The check engine light is on. From the outside of the car it smells like someone lit a match. Could it be the fuel pump going bad or maybe a fuel reset switch that needs to be reset? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

I agree with “scottydoggs”, additional information is needed. It is possible it is related to the fuel pump; however it is difficult to say.

Have you had the vehicle inspected for this issue?
