I'm not for certain how they work on the fuel system, but I know there isn't a actual regulator like there is on the older cars

Are you having a specific problem with your car? I remember when my car was having trouble starting without giving it some gas I was looking around for it as well, but the issue was actually a dirty MAF and TB.
 
I have a thread in the l32/l67 section called "stumble on cold start". I think its a fuel related issue. Check it out if ya don't mind

Wrong. There is a regulator.

It is built into the fuel pump.

But it functions just like any fuel regulator does.

It regulates to a static 50psi of fuel pressure and is not boost referenced. It is unlikely that they would fail.

Considering it shows that it is only replaceable by replacing the entire fuel pump module assembly... I am right. Unless you can provide a part number to service the regulator by itself.

It shows its built on, and yes it should last the life of the pump module, but if you can't replace it by itself then the point is moot. I just meant that it is not like the old L67s where it has a actual regulator you can replace should it mess up. The new models don't have one.

Just as several models of GM trucks do NOT have a fuel filter, at least not one serviceable. Its built onto the pump module, but when someone comes in saying I need a new one because it needs to be replaced, you tell them it doesn't have one. Unless you want to spend several hundred to replace the whole pump assembly.
 
Where did I say it didnt act like a normal regulator? I just said it was part of the pump and yes they can fail or the pump its self can be weak. A fuel pressure and volume test can rule both of them out.
