fuel milage

so Ive been tracking fuel milage here and there with different plugs, gaps, filters etc.
I noticed that with a paper filter and the stock intake I get anywhere from 29-33 mpg on the highway, and with streets FWI and a specture filter it droped to a really constitant 27 mpg.
this is just something I noticed and thought I would share. and so far has been the most dramatic change in mpg for me.

colder air = less mileage.

HAI = best mileage intake.

I will second what Nick said.

Although some will argue that with cold air is more dense and you can make more power wich means less fuel is used. And I will agree to that too. But under normal driving circumstances I think you will still see less MPG's with a cold air intake. And that's has been proven.

Try an open cone, see what happens.

I can still get 30 MPG on my setup, even with the 3.29s and the 3000 stall...

^^ Really? You must not drive much do you :p

LOL, Thats what I got to and from Branson. Although that stretch on the way back I ran 150 mph, gas mileage did suffer a little bit. But yeah, I was around 29-30 MPG even speeding a bit.

Compared to my run up the ther previous time with my stock tranny, I only noticed about 1-2 MPG difference.

Both years I left my house with a full tank of gas and when I got into Branson I filled up and the fuel light wasn't even on yet although the DIC was showing LOW. Not bad at all I don't think considering i've done 0 tuning for gas mileage specifically...

alright I need to get a tune!!!!!
any sugestions?
I am not spending a grand on a HP pro just to play with my ecm peramiters.

HPTuner is $500, not $1000. And if you think it is just "playing" with ECM parameters, then you should not be tuning anyway. Go with Overkill.

yes it is just playing. that is what hot rodding is all about.
and when I went to HPs site the price was 800 and some change for the pro version.
unless I can do all I need to with the other verison.
