fuel line leaking

How long is the line, or how much did it cost. I dont remember how much it cost, I really dont think it was more then $25. I think its about 6ft.

The fittings are a little pricy and the line is more costly then regular rubber fuel line, but its worth it. I will pay the extra for the line over calling the fire department to have them put the engine fire out in my car. :)
 
Yeah, I cant say that I blame you.

So you got about 6' of SS braided line, thats all? Thats considerably less than I thought it would be or is that just from like the firewall to the rails? For some reason I was thinking all the way back from the tank.

I'll look up the prices on -6 AN stuff and see what that will run, maybe I can piece it together over time and do all that when I yank the tranny.
 
I dont recomend running hose all the way back to the trunk unless your rolling in $$$. The main reason the GP eigine fires happen is from the fitting on the fuel in side of the line. I just cut the line about 4 inches before it makes the bend to go up twords the engine bay.
 
sweet zzp fuel rails have the provisions to just mount this type fuel line straight to it. I am defenitely doing it now.

I guess you'd have to know me, but if I take this on, it will be from the tank all the way up to the rails and both lines at that. I just wouldnt be satisfied or satisfied with myself if I did it any other way. I can tell the SS braided line could run easily $150 - 200 for that kind of run, but it would be worth it to me.

So I would need:

SS braided lines
2 -6 AN Compression fittings or
4 -6 AN Compression Fittings if hooking up to stock fuel rails
4 -6 AN Hose Fittings

Now the blue fitting in between the two red ones, what kind of fitting is that. Is that a compression to hose adapter, male to female? I guess I would need a couple of those? Just trying to put together a list of what all I would need.
 
Hey sra_chipmonk.... do you have PNs for all those fittings you used? I wanna make sure I get the right stuff and not waste money on fittings I don't need. I already did that on my IC install with Aeroquip fittings. :-(

What sizes are the inlets and outlets? I want to do both lines on my car. That line you cut, you left it installed? Is it hard to remove?

Also, when cutting the tubing, how do you prevent metal shaving from getting into the line?

There are 2 blue fittings. If you look on the first pic, you can see I seperated them by 2 different colors (Green Box/Yellow Box)

The one in the yellow box goes with the compression fittning.
The one in the Green box, that is appart of the fitting that goes to the steel braided line.

To be honest with you man, I dont know the P/N's to those fittings or the measurements to the line. I will contact Jason Austin as he is the first one who did this mod and showed me how to do it.

When I gut the line, I put a shop vac onto the lines for a VERY brief second to suck all the shaving out. There is very little shavings.

I left the line in there because it was being a prick and wouldnt come out. I dyked the hard plastic line that comes up and threw that away (weight savings of 6oz FTW)

Awesome, thank you. Im looking for all the stuff, but Im not all that familiar with what all would be needed outside the obvious stuff.

Mine actually began to leak right at that bend. I couldn't believe it. I had hard/long starts and the smell of gas, till I figured where it came from.
