fuel leak and runs rough

I have a 97 gtp. It runs rough almost like a miss around 1000 rpm. But idle is fine so is past 1500. Service engine light is on not flashing on. So is abs and airbag just saying. The car sat for a year or more before I got it. So could it be bad gas. And I have a fuel line leakin some where near fuel filter toward tank. Also hid is non working. Help please.

So... You're driving around in a car with a known fuel leak and wondering why it runs rough? There's this thing called fuel pressure, yours isn't right with a fuel line leaking, get that fixed.

By "hid" I'm assuming you're trying to say that your heads up display isn't working, however you may want to clarify that.

year old gas is probobly bad. My wifes eclipse sat for 6 months with 1/4 tank of gas and wouldnt start until I put in fresh gas. Yeah get that leak fixed

And for the record hell no im not driving it like that and I meant hud sorry. How much would a shop charge to fix the lines anyone know? Thanks for the help guys.

Dorman makes a fuel line repair kit. Its about $10 and all you need is a small pipe cutter and about 30 min of time. It all depends on where the leak is. Dorman has both the rubber/plastic line that goes to the tank and the metal line the runs from the fuel filter to the line the connects to your fuel rail.

Put it on jack stands, and turn it on and off a few times with someone watching. It's proabably spraying the other two lines. If so, that's going to be the largest line, the supply.

That year car has a tendency to leak from the connectors on top of the supercharger, the quick connectors there leak from the 0-Ring. Turn it on and take a look at the top of the SC to see if it leaks from there.

Got the gas leak fixed. It was the return line rusted and in the process broke a break line. :( it was rusted. Fixed it while doing that another broke. Fixed it then then I went to bleed the passenger side stripped out the bleeder and the second brake line I fixed started leaking further towards the front. Same place the first brake line broke and where the fuel leak was. Grrrrrrrrr. Got more line and fittings will hopefully be done repairing lines tomorrow.

Sounds like my kinda project. Hope it works out for you.

Well that's y I was wondering if anybody knows how much a shop charges to replace them completely?

You could also go to the dealership or online GM store and buy the lines. IIRC when you buy the lines they include everything from the connector to the fuel rail to the connecter for the fuel filter. I was going to do this when I had a really tough time replacing the fuel filter and kinked the line. I ended up doing the Dorman kit because replacing the lines is a pain without a lift.

Thing with having a shop do it is all the cost is labor. Lines and fittings are relatively cheap.

I feel your pain, I bought a car with a bad motor. Swapped that. beat the brakes pretty hard in the garage because the lines looked bad and they held. I moved the car out, touched the brake lightly and popped two lines. Four lines later..the car stopped like a dream.
