ok guys so i went to my buddys house went inside and stayed the night there the next morning i went out and the car wouldn't start.. Fuel pump wouldn't come on so i bought a new fuel pump and put it in and the car fired right up and ran good for about 5 mins and then started cutting out and died. rechecked my lines and let it set for about 5 mins and then it did the same thing over again.. What happen??? the car has about an 1/8th tank could that be it?? and also could the fuel filter be plugged up again i changed it about a week before the fuel pump went out

What are we looking at here? 97-03, 04+? Gt, GTP? Check the wiring for the pump. Are you parked on a hill and low on fuel?

its a 99 grand prix ftp sorry about that.. and no I'm not on a hill and ok ill try that keep the ideas coming please it also has a code that says evap system pressure low or something like that

deff check the harness to the fuel pump.. the pins inside of my connectors got loose witch make it hot then it gets worse.. have someone in the trunk just put a little pressure on the connector and turn the key and see if u can hear the fuel pump prime itself
 


i bent the prong on the one relay because it kept starting and dieing. and could it be possible that its just not getting enough power??? or is it all or nothing?? because this new fuel pump seems to be really quiet. and like i said the fuel filter isn't but a week old and it is a little low on fuel please help guys i need this thing running
 
i put more fuel in it and its running awesome now until it builds boost.. as soon as it starts building boost it falls on its face please help I'm lost guys
 
i'm having sort of the same issue. car started this morning and ran for about a minute. i can still here the pump but it doesn't sound normal. would that be the resistor or the pump?
 


i found that i had a vacuum line loose i put it back together and it attest doesn't cut out in neutral now when i punch it.. but when its under load and i give it much throttle at all it falls on its face... the vacuum line off the fpr had just a slight hint of gas smell but the fpr doesn't have any smell at all
 
my for doesn't have a flu smell though i had a mechanic look at it and smell it and he said the fpr was still good i have a brand new fuel pump and I'm only getting 25 psi fuel pressure??
 


it was a precision pump and sure enough i went and got it warrantied and it runs like a dream now.. i also just received my over kill pcm and installed it..
