• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Frustrated and at a loss

Is one of the issues here that in 2003 there wasn't a LE grand Prix? Lol
also make sure you have those metal heatshields off the boot of the plugs. They cause misfires, mine was misfiring like crazy and no ses light took forever to get up to speed once I stepped on the gas. Removed them and everything was good.

Except that the limited edition was only 2003?

If you read the thread, you'd find the humor in your statement. I asked the question, then got the answer via Matt Palm and put the link into this thread. There is an LE in 03. Jokes on you bud.

Except that was my point that there is and only were made in 03.

Kind of sounds similar to the issues i am experiencing. I am a bit confused did you ever scan it to see if a code was thrown even though the ses light isnt on? When you say the tach jumps around when climbing hills do you mean similar to a misfire or more like slipping a gear, revving high, and then catching a gear? Thats what mine does but only when hot. I also had codes for long shifts and lean bank 1. If you get a chance to scan it check your fuel trims. Your reduction in power sounds similar to a lean condition. I saw a previous poster mentioned spraying carb cleaner but also check the map with the scanner or a mechanical vac. Gauge.

thanks for the tip on the metal plug boot shields! I would have never dreamed that they would cause an issue as GM initially put them on there at the factory. Call me silly but my thinking is if its on there it for a reason, so when I changed plugs and wires I naturally put them back on. I changed my plugs from bosch to ac delco as billboost suggested and so I just left the shields off this time. Not real sure if this really helped as my major issue turned out to be my dang map sensor. But thanks again I will use any good sound advice.
