Front Monsoon Speaker

My 07 GT with the Monsoon Stereo has two problems. The constant feedback through the speakers which from searching the forum sounds like a bad ground somewhere. Not sure if you'd call it feedback but it's a constant light static sound even when the car is turned off.

It also sounds like the front speaker may be blown. Does anyone know how hard is to replace the front speaker? Also if there's an easy fix for the background noise or what exactly to check that would be great.

At this point I guess I'll just pull the stereo and check connections to see when the sound goes off. Would adding another ground possibly help?

The front speaker is not hard to replace. You must remove the door panel though.

I asked at bestbuy first, and they told me about 100 bucks to remove, and replace the door speakers.

There is a trim piece(mine was chrome color) that pops right off, with two 10mm bolts behind it. It is flat, and goes across the middle of the door panel.

It is what you grab ahold of to shut the door.
You can get a flat blade screw driver in there, behind this piece, and it will pop right out.

You will need an extension to reach the two 10mm bolts. Once those 2 bolts are out, the rest of the panel pops off. Use a flat blade screwdriver, start at the bottom. You will find a small slot at the bottom of the door panel for the screwdriver to fit into. From there work your way around, and up.

There is a wiring plug for the windows, mirror, etc. It has a lever that you pull back, and once it's back, the plug releases.
You can leave this plug in place, and just tilt the panel up, so you can get to the door speaker, if this plug intimidates you.

Thanks. I was actually talking about the front center speaker on the dashboard. I looks like the cover will just pry off...I hope.

hey did you ever solve your feedback problem i am experiencing the feed back in the right front speaker when the car is on or off

Just out of curiosity...are ya'll running aftermarket head units? Pioneer decks were bad about the ground loop ya'll are talking about. There is a fix for this if ya'll are interested I can find.

could you find it. i have the monsoon system and an after market pioneer deck and i hate the static

i am using the stock head unit and its driving me insane cuz the rest of the car has awsome sound but that one speaker is messing me up i have to have the music down real low in order not to hear it so bad it has a whine like noise to it that follows with the engine revs and also sounds like its blown with the crackling
