The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
Can anybody give me a quick summary of how to change this. I've got a front PEM and want to swap it but theres so much around the front exhaust manifold I'm not sure where to start lol.
Upper engine mounts. Spark plug wires. The 2 crossover bolts that bolt the manifold to the down pipe. Manifold bolts (6). and thats it i belive except a engine lift bracket wich i belive you have to take off.
Remove plug wires (gently, if you have the stockers):
Take out these two bolts holding it to the crossover:
Best to soak them in PB Blaster for a while. Do NOT reuse them!!
Remove this bracket:
Remove any other brackets that might be in the way (nothing tricky). You will also have to pull the dipstick tube out. Just pull and it comes out:
Remove the nuts and it will come right off:
Some of the nuts may be seized to the exhaust studs. It's okay, as they'll still unscrew anyway. Only one of my studs actually stayed in the head, as you can see.
I had intended to make a guide for NAIOA, but right after the last few pics I broke a bolt in my rear manifold trying to get my crossover out. Never finished it. :th_laugh-pointup:
Yea thanks a bunch that defiantly made it go a lot smoother. I kinda figured thats how I'd have to go about doing it I just wanted to be lazy and not have to take out the extra like 5 bolts lol. thanks again
