Front Driver Side "Clunk" Mystery. Any ideas?

So my daughter, yes the same one that killed my 2000 GTP, put my 2006 GT into a ditch somewhat sideways. Anyway, the body damage is fixed, but the shop (picked by the insurance company) can't seem to figure out what could be causing a front end (driver side) "clunk" in the suspension. It only seems to happen on "medium" size road bumps. I've gone over small ones and big ones, and they seem generally OK, but those "average sized" bumps (sounds Goldilocks and the Three Bears) seem to cause a "clunk".

Tonight I am going to check the sway bar/bushings, and the lower control arm/bushing. What else could I check?

I've had the car down there 5 times total now (twice for body work, and 3 times for front end noises and this is the last piece of the puzzle)... I would like to be able to give them some idea or at least have an idea myself about it. If nothing else, I could see if a suspension place to take a peek at it too, but I like doing some of this myself.

Thanks!

That Clunk sound that you are hearing maybe the steering knuckle between the steering wheel and the rack and pinion unit.
I replaced mine in my 2007 GP last fall and that cleared up my mystery clunk sound on the drivers side.
A hint, drive the car at low speed (under 20mph) and saw the steering wheel left to right. That's when I heard the mystery clunk in my GP.
BTW there are no after market replacements for this part. It is a dealer only part. Doorman made one for a bit but it too proved to have bad engineering and was taken out of production.

Good Luck to you! Let us know if this is the problem.
