• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Please list all the Free to cheep (under$30) mod's that u know of for the L67 series II Supercharged engine, lets help everybody who's just starting out to get the best advantage to make their car the quickest!!!:D I'll start it out...

MAF Descreen
Engine Cover Remove
UnderHood Heat Sheild Remove
Rear Hood Weather Striping Remove
EGR 'Penny' block off
Elevate Hood
Ground Wire Paint surface sand

Fuel Pump Re-Wire
DIY U-bend delete
clear corners from E-bay ( I just got some new ones for $20)
Engine bracket removal

Keep in mind these are performance upgrades!!! and yes legal and illegal both! so what is involved in a fuel pump re - wire and how does it help with power?

flipped engine mounts....

unhooked the dogbone mount from the core support.. get 2 long screw drivers and some WD-40 or your lube of preference..if you look at the mount its solid up and down.. put a screw driver on each side, spray WD40 all over the rubber(dont be shy with it:D:p) and spin the mount so its solid horizontally.. this is basically a offbrand solid mount.. will take away half if not more of your engine rock. good for people who have problems with dp rubbing on sway bar or people who wanna break them loose 10mph faster then what they already do lol....

yes BUT it slows the flow of air by 10 to 15% in the process, (aka slower air means hotter air) as tested by ZZP , which i trust considering they hold the world record for fastest fwd 3800 with a 9 sec 1/4. and ive done it now for a while with no ill effects so idk....

But, without the screen you get a very turbulent flow into the intake. The screen is in there to create a more laminar flow. You will see that the screen is built in to the LT1/LS1/LQ4 MAF sensors, and for a good reason. I would leave it in.

I had mine out for the longest time and after reading some of the debates, I decided to put it back in and it did seem to make a difference in the idle.

That said, Ive read from some that it helps with tuning as well as the MAF reads better.

the debate thickens… I had mine out and two MAFs died. It got killed when I pulled it out, so I don't have it to put back in (though I probably would if I had it).

How about removing that rubber weather strip at the base of the cowl?

I assume so. Mine was off for a looooooong time and I never had any adverse effects from it. Seems like it'd trap in a lot of heat.

i take them off every grand prix with its hood open lol

its like a free cowl effect, and you can actually see the heat coming out on a cool day. i also have 2 washers between my hood and hood hinge.
