I'm curious how his piracy protection works then, I am assuming it has some sort of virus that reports itself after its been booted, and if it ever reports being on another laptop then it bricks itself? It seems tough to do.
 


some of the newer gm pcm's you need to be connected to the internet or it wont flash. if you never tune something that new i bet it wont know, but if you do that might be how it see's the ip and then a changed ip.

but im no pc pro. no idea what it would take to make something like that work.
 
Yea, Im not sure how theyd set it up... I just know that I dropped $400 and dont really wanna risk it by trying something lol

I was thinking that myself. I suspect that only the download link itself is IP protected. After all, if it works on a device that never connects to the internet it could never report itself. Although if I paid $400 for something like that I wouldn't risk it. The crack is probably available for free somewhere, and someone is just making a quick buck reselling it.
 


I hover over on ls1tech and someone posted a thread related to this thread here yesterday morning (EST) and that thread apparently doesn't exist anymore lol.

what happens with updates? Does the crack still work? If not will there be any support for those of us that have already purchased it?
 


I can allow multiple installs on my end. If I know the email address associated with the purchase I can change the number allowed. It's mostly to prevent one guy from buying it and then spreading it everywhere.

Updates I will keep updating as new versions come out. It won't be instant, especially if they actively try to combat the crack, but I don't really think their people are going to have much success with that.

Support is basically I'll try to keep it up to date and provide a link for those that bought it if they want to update it. Hopefully that makes sense.
