Re: Fraschy's 1994 Grand Prix GTP!

Everything but the gaskets looks really good, which is awesome considering the leak it had. I can't wait to get everything cleaned up and see how much better she runs without all the smog crap gunked up in her.

Re: Fraschy's 1994 Grand Prix GTP - Rebuilding the DOHC!

Cleaned up parts today for almost 7 hours. Cleaned the engine block, heads, and cams! Here is a picture of the block all yucky, and tipped on it's side..:

Wow! Looks like your making some progress!

Good luck and can't wait to see what you end up doing with her!

(I call my car a her too!)

Great job!
I know the pain sweat and tears that goes into cleaning up motor/heads like that. The pain and tears, for me, usually comes after the rag slips and I cut 6" down my hand on those sharp cylinder edges. Then continuing to use carb choke cleaner ;)

Side note. Those heads look like they flow a lot. Too bad the 3800 never had a dohc version. But then again, something about the good ol' pushrods keeps them in the game still.

Re: Fraschy's 1994 Grand Prix GTP - Rebuilding the DOHC!

hmm adapt DOHC heads to 3.8...

ive seen that done with nissan truck heads on a small block buick motor. old school block with DOHC

That DOHC looks like a bunch of fun! Youve made it further than most people go with those already. I spy a Ford E4OD in the back round too
