• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Four Sixer's Red Ripper

I only have a 2.50" pulley because a buddy handed it to me with a 2.60". I don't know of anyone that would consider running either these days. On a Gen 3 or Gen V.

So they sit in my box and when someone starts talking silly small pullies with me I pull it out and say, "I'll maching your snout if you have the balls to run this at WOT"

im willing to step to the plate! we'll see how much she can safely handle on the dyno. starting with a 2.8 pulley.

What's the elevation there? It's not that crazy, just have to tune accordingly. E85 helps too.

L32 swapped GT smokes a Vette!

That is a friend of mine, Marc's, car at Bandimere, here near Denver, CO. He had 2.55 on an XP cam/S2IC-only L32. The DA that day was in 8500-9000 range, too.

Crazy kids and their hot-rods.

Been a while since an update. I got some work done around the Missus birthday, a long camping weekend, a meet I hosted at my place etc etc. And I've been talking to some guys on ways to solve some fitment issues.

On with the pics.
In the garage with the IC FMHE sitting in place and checking fitment etc.

Got some steel stock and cut, bent, drilled, painted etc to use as a top bracket. Did a little light work on the radiator support to mount to that. Once I make any cut or have any steel exposed, it's painted or orubberized with undercoating. For a clean install, body clips are installed so that the bolts are held by the clips and not a thin layer of sheetmetal.

The clip is at the bottom of the heat exchanger in this pic

Used holes already in the rad support side piece with the clip to mount the top mount of the heat exhchanger

Every hole has clips and factory bolts. To me it's the way it would have been done from the factory if this were a factory part.

On to a couple small issues, IC outlet pipe is in line with the 98 alt bracket

One option being discussed is the newer alt bracket and alt. Slightly modding the bracket gives a nice clearnace.

Hood clearance.. we'll work on that.
IMG_7358.jpg

Maybe shave off a little of the extra TB adapter

And what you've been waiting to see.

that should be feisty...I missed an E, but fisty is pretty funny LOL

I think shaving the TB spacer is the least of it, cause that booster cap is way higher, but it probably couldn't hurt

Honestly remove the padding in the hood, its not needed. Then you could cut some of the hood supports away...if only cutting small sections away it won't hurt anything.

Just my thoughts.

lots of progress and less pics taken as of late.

Since we left off, the 2000 alt and it's bracket are on. The rear trailing arms have been swapped out. Vogtlands have been swapped onto the existing AGX's, I added anti pogo washers and new mounts to the front. The factory rear endlinks broke, those were replaced with moog (much thicker), A lateral arm was replaced. All the fluids are filled, a 45* coupler was put on the filter to clear the strut tower. All the IC stuff has nearly been run, all that is left is the fill res and wire up the pump. New battery cables etc etc etc. Cut the plastic shields to go back on by the bumper. High flow fuel pump, fuel pump rewire, Fresh Autolite 103's in place, plug wires, borrowed a 2.9 from Intrigue98 to get the belt on. Belt for the accessory path. Lots of misc stuff.

Last few things.
Run water pump electrical
Run IC pump electrical
Finish IC lines
Toss a basic tune for the 60lb injectors and LS1 maf into the pcm.

Check everything one last time.

Max liked it so much, he did the same.

IIRC aren't blue coils L36 coils?

I mentioned to Len how the Meziere pump had more flow and was a nice pump for the IC. After bleeding at the pump and ensuring it had a full IC etc.

Pump sounds like it is shot. Luckily Len dropped off another pump as well. Looks like it's rework time of removing and installing the other.

Couple of posts behind.
Got things hooked up, found a noisy/bad IC pump. New one is on the way. Everything else is nearly wrapped up.
Drove it out under it's own power.

Vroom vroom

bumper cover is just sitting there as are the headlights. I hope I can get those back in properly. :D

IC pump arrived yesterday. WBS shipped a part on Wed (glad I chose 2 day air on Saturday..lol) so that should be here tonight. Tonight I'll finish it up and give you a call Len. There might be a car running in the background.

Then tomorrow when you get here, we'll put on the pulley and belt.
