Fog lamps ????

I have a 2008 and my chick has a 2006 and the fog lamps seem to do double duty as turn signals and fog/running lamps

I was wondering do they have a bulb that will make it white while I'm driving?

I don't care if it is yellow while my blinker is on.

I did try to search but it claims there was no results for fog lamps or lights? I find that hard to believe.

Anyway can you guys help me out ?

Okay so I honed my search skills a bit more and seems like neither of us have fog lights they are just turn signal/running lights = Ghey all the way.

So now the question is how do I get me sum mo' fo' fog lights on my rig ?

Yea if you really only want to have white lights down in the fog light area and don't really need it necessarily for light output, look into some switchback LEDs.

Cool thanks guys I'll check em out. I also found some threads that ReddawnGXP posted in about fogs lights. So I'll be reading up on some things for awhile. Thanks again for the input.

I went ahead and ordered those ones from ebay they look like the stock units that are on the GT. Anyway they showed up today and I bolted one up to make sure it fits and its all good. Now I need the mating connector to these things. Do you think I can get a mating connector w/ some pig tails from a auto parts store? I know I can just cut them off and solder everything but I want it to look factory when I'm done.
I have the relay and socket coming so once I get these connectors I'll be good to go. I'll take photos of the install even though its boring compared to some of the stuff you guys are doing to you cars.

Dude...the bulb just comes out of the socket you didn't have to buy a whole new one. Just get two socket 3157 switchback LEDs (3757 is exactly the same except amber). You'll need the switchback bulbs and a pair of load resistors (those links are taken directly from my order review).

Now, once you get them, wire the load resistors from the light blue wire on the harness to the black wire on the harness (wire taps are also necessary) then just zip tie the resistor to the wiring to keep it from swinging all over the place. Repeat for the other signal, and you're done! You now have pure white running lights and nice amber signals with no hyperflash.

I looked into the switchbacks and decided I wanted a more OEM solution. Plus these should have more light output than the LED's. I may replace the turn signal section with the switchbacks down the road but for now this is what I decided on.

If I'm understanding this right (from your first post), then you aren't understanding how your lights function (or there's a fair amount of miscommunication here). The top half is the DRL/turn signal and the bottom half is the fog lamp (btw, NONE of the housing is yellow/amber, it's all reflective -- the color comes from the bulb). The top half will always be on unless you modify the wiring, and the bottom half will turn on only when you turn them on. To turn the fogs on, there's a circular wheel switch around your turn signal stick on your steering column. Turn this away from you and it will toggle your fog lights (it will bounce back). You will know they're on when it shows a green fog lamp icon on your dash. Here's a picture to better illustrate:

P.S. Could you post a pic of your stock housing vs. the fleabay one?

My GP is just a base model no fog lights at all the stock housing has just a amber parking/turn signal bulb in it.
The ones I got off of ebay are the split style like the GT models come with. I plan on taping into the parking lights to trigger the relay to turn on the fog lights as RedDawnGXP mentioned in one of his posts. http://www.grandprixforums.net/installing-oem-foglight-2004-grand-prix-29325.html

The ebay ones look like the ones he has powered up sitting on the floor in that post. Mine are the none split plain Jane single bulb turn signal found on the base model. I'm replacing it with the split style top turn/bottom fog.
Hope that clears up the confusion.

Zomg! I didn't even know they did that with the later base models lmao. I might just buy me some of those stockers and have the main bulb be a fog/drl and have an amber led ring around the outside as the turn signal. You have opened my eyes sir, haha. I take it you don't have the switch as indicated in my picture then?

Nope no switch that's why I'm using RedDawnGXP's thread as a how-to. I have the socket and relay coming just wish I could find the mating plug to them lights. Haven't checked NAPA or any other auto parts stores yet. Been on OT at work and just got back from the Vikings/Cowboys game this weekend.
On the downside I wont be able to shut off the fog lights but on the bright side they will stay on when I hit my brights.
