Fog Lamp Bulb Replacement

Ok this may sound dumb to you experts here, but i just tried and have no idea. How the hell do you replace the fog lamp bulb i was under the car for 20 min trying to twist it, twisting what i now beleive is the adjustment knob, it started to get dark and i coulndt finish so how the hell you do it LOL, and yes i did search and found other posts but not replacing the current bulbs.
 


The wing nut adjusts the angle at which the light comes out. points it up toward the driver, or down to the road.

inside of the metal bracket you will see the wires going into the light bulb. you want to follow these wires to the connector. twist this counter clockwise(I believe) and it will only turn a certain amount, and then you should pull it straight out. IT take a little bit of twisting to get it to turn....but it will turn.

Then just simply remove the connector by pulling the lock tab up and slide out the old bulb, and clip on the new one. THEN.... word of wisdom.... DON't under any circumstances touch the NEW bulb!!!! your oils from your skin will get caught on the bulb and cause it to shatter, and not last long after installing. the trick is...hold it by the connector when putting it back in.

then just simply slide it in through the center of the bracket and twist opposite of removal. You will be able to see in the fog light fixtue in the front to guide it in...and which way you turn it to lock it in.

They ae a pain sometimes..but they mean well!!!!!! Good luck!!!!
 
yeah i know my mazda 6 had the worst bulb acces ever i matter how hard you try you could never ever not touch the bulb, and it used h3s and h1 bulbs, so to even connect them after you finally get them in was a ***** n a half, thank you! i willl try it out today,
 
I've found it's easier to take the foglight out (it's just two 10mm nuts). It makes it a lot easier to get them back in without brushing them against something that will get them dirty, or bending them while trying to find the hole.

I know i just tried again, must be on there good i cant get it loose, so im just gonna take the whole light out replace it and then bolt back up.
 
Its pretty funny to see the thread of how not to melt your fog lights LOL, i pulled the lamp out, and the housing where the bulb twisted in was melted, hence why i was unable to pull it. i had to crack it, and remove some of the melted peices, the new bulb went in fine, and i had to use some electrical tape to seal the hole from the melted plastic, so far so good though lol
 
glad you were able to get the new bulb in. I would look into getting a new hosuing form a junk yard... I am not sure how long the electrical tape will last.
