I am doing a intense shift kit on my one year old low mile rebuilt transmissions that has less than 10k city miles and i am wondering whats your opinion on the best fluid i am trying to decide on walmart supertech dexron 6. GM approved or valvoline max life synthetic multi purpose atf that valvoline recommended for use in dexron 6

Any dex 6 thats GM approved/licensed, I used valvoline brand dex 6 from napa but the Walmart super**** brand its fine if approved which I think it is.

That im unsure of, you would have to look at the manufacturers website or contact them. I do know that the GM licensed fluids have to meet GM spec. Me personally wouldn't run the AT fluid that works in multiple applications that most brands have only because I'm anal like that even tho it could or does meet GM spec but its not approved.

I'd suggest dexron 6 fluid only, assuming the rebuild included the seals and gaskets. It is a better fluid and that is a fact. I say if seals and gaskets because it has a higher flow rate as it's a semi synthetic fluid from gm. And higher flow rate means more leak down if seals are worn.
Valvoline offers a full synthetic Dex 6 which is what I would use. Its a little pricey but is good stuff.

I used Valvoline Dex 6 in my moms LaCrosse, I think it was like 5.99 or 6.99 a quart at a local napa.
