floor leaking on 98 grand prix gt

any chance the front pass side is also wet. maybe you park with the front of the car higher then the back and the cowl leaks to the back floor?

I recently had water puddling up at my rear passenger seat floor as well. I removed all of my cars interior and had someone spray the car down while I sat inside checking everywhere for leaks. I found a slight split in the metal under where the roof rails go right next to the rear windshield which let water in.

The reason the water puddled where it did for me is how I have the car parked - it's next to the curb and the passenger side sits slightly lower than the driver side. I'll post a picture of the water flow where my leak was.

You could try spraying the car down like I did and hit the rails real good. Check under the rear seats for water, that way you don't have to remove any interior panels.

IF that's your problem, I used a bit of clear silicone from Home Depot to fill in the crack and keep any water out. So far no water!

Hope that helps :D

EDIT - This also let water flow up to my front passenger floor too. Pretty much everywhere in all honesty haha.

I had the same issue in my 98 GT, I tried a lot of different things until I finally removed the cowl( I thinks thats the proper name) rain deflector on the passenger side and was able to see that the weather stripping had fallen off. I cleaned it up and used some RTV silicone and issue resolved I have yet to have it leak during a storm. Nevermind I just saw that it was the backseat not the front my apologies.
