Flashing ABS and TCS light

Ok, so ive been through most of mine, and from what I can tell this started when the struts were changed. It had no issues before with the lights. So I dont know where to go from here, the lights light up before I even start the car and no matter if ive cleared the lights by removing the battery cable and letting it sit for a while or take it back to the garage and let them clear it, still comes back. So the last time, they replaced a bearing on the rear, after they had tested them with a multimeter, I tested both of the front bearings and they were fine, I moved the wires, traced a few of them on the front and still get the ohm's and 5v at both of the sensors coming from the harness. My question is, should I go the module route at this point? would an alignment issue cause this? I have the ABS, traction control, and variable steering light on.

using a scanner for abs is the only way to really fix it if you cant find anything obvious. it will tell you if the module is bad as well.

the light is on because of a code being thrown, those codes are the answer. they point you in the right direction anyway.

@ others with a similar ABS/TCS problem, people here who recommend an initial scan are 100% correct with that approach. I had hoped to find something wrong with the hub/sensor/wiring that can be tested with a DMM thus not paying for said scan although my troubles are module related. For my situation the scan was absolutely crucial.

SlowNA06 was right on the money (in effort to save $) with his last post. Correction for my particular issue is going to be most likely EBCM or possibly PCM at this point (hopefully not both). I took the time to test the wiring with both modules unplugged on both the Requested and Delivered Torque Circuits (CKT 463&464). They test with perfect continuity and no shorts to power or ground so I can hopefully eliminate a wiring issue and the madness it would bring shotgun swapping in different computers yielding the same results as before. I also verified the PCM is sending a 5V signal through the Torque Request Signal to the EBCM connector unplugged with the ignition on, engine not running. From what I gather the EBCM toggles this internally to ground creating the PWM signal. I suspect it is not doing so, but is just a guess without the proper scan tool to test the duty cycle and frequency.

Also decided I am not going to attempt my own repair on the EBCM either as the video I watched looked like soldering a piece of dental floss on to the back of a tiny ant. I may be able to pull that repair off but if fault lies elsewhere internally in the EBCM I wouldn’t be providing correction just another wasted effort.

Notes on MM:
As I mentioned earlier and per the simple vehicle selector on MM’s web site it stated I have a Bosch 5.4 EBCM. This is not the case. A visual inspection on my car compared to ModuleMaster | All Modules confirms I do have the 5.3 module in my car. MM’s site also states that if a module is sent to them and scanned by them with no codes they will send it back for free minus return shipping, a really nice touch there I must say. I may just go that route.

Notes on the OTC 9540:
http://www2.otctools.com/otctools.com/newcatalog/products/1.pdf Pertaining solely to ABS, only works for 2004 to 2008 GP’s. N/A for 1997-2003 GP model years. Otherwise I may have ordered one already. If I do wind up purchasing my own scan tool it will have to have this functionality.

Other notes:
Through all of my unorthodox DIY troubleshooting I did find a front hub that has some play in it. Enough to make me want to replace it. The plastic clip to secure the sensor connector was missing as well so the wiring had been hanging in free air to which I zip tied the connector temporarily to the mounting bracket. Although that hub always ohms out fine and never threw a code I am going to address this first so it does not create “other” problems. After I get that done I won’t be able to afford any other repairs for a while. I’m lucky this ABS issue (or I should now a Traction Control issue) is not affecting drive-ability or engine power so I’m going to have to back burner the abs/TCS problem for the time being. Next logical step after that when I have more spare cash is to shotgun r&r the EBCM and see what becomes of it.

Won’t be for quite a while but hopefully the next update I make here will be “Yep, it was that P.O.S. EBCM everyone spoke of” and have a “Solved” in the topic title

Hello all, well first of all thanks for all the helpful replies. I have to say that this was a simple fix, so I went out and got the actron auto scanner plus today 9580A I have to say that it narrowed it down to the hub, and the more in detail the left rear and stated that it was the circuit. So I take off the hub, the one was replaced by the garage when they did the struts, and guess what, the connector was dangling free. So I put it back on there, make sure that its tight and in there, start up, everything is back to normal, no lights, no nothing! the scanner at autozone was 250, but I can say that it does ABS and engine codes, as well as an auto feature which detects the car. It worked really well, is able to connect to the internet via usb, to get data out, update and such.
