Not sure how long this has been going on but I noticed this the other night... I'm goin WOT to test some knock which turned out to be none (thank god) but when I let off I'm getting some fames out the back like its backfiring... Only its not backfiring... Anybody else have this happen? Know why?

cuz it looks cool that why

no seriously idk why, hope you get what you need

Because I know what a backfire feels and sounds like... And I honestly would never have known about this unless I saw it happen when it did it...

my old truck was running really rich, it was shooting flames out the exhaust. But when I looked underneath.... the muffler was cherry red.

Wideband is saying 11.5 so its not too rich... Think it could be the toluene? I mean I'm 3 inch with no cat and headers so I dunno...

I'm just worried its hurting my car a lot ya know?

Well until you figure out what's causing it, at least get some use out of it and roast some hot dogs. MMMMM hot dogs :th_drooling:

otherwise, speaking of 3800s in general, most backfire at least a small amount when they let off the throttle completely after going heavy into it. mine always did.

I tried it because now that I live in lawrence, 91 octane is the highest I could get and I'm used to 93... So I was knocking a little bit and now threw some of this in to make up for it... I'm not really even running that much of it...

most of the time when you see a car backfire and shoot a fireball is because at the shift they are running super rich, but you normally notice this on turbo cars because of how they shift, bleed boost, etc.

That's why I was a little confussed about it Bio... Cuz I've only seen this on high powered turbo cars and my car isn either turbo or THAT high of powered...

Now that I think about it toluene does burn hotter and with me not having a cat that could possiby be doin it too...
