fix my keyless entry!

can anyone tell me the problem with my factory keyless entry on my 98 gtp? the remote opens the truck, but would not open nor lock the doors. the power door locks do work. i purchase a used remote on ebay along with programming instructions and it did not work period!
 


Don't know the answer, but I am having the same prob with my factory one, although it is cuz it is busted up and used. I have been thinking of getting one off ebay but..... now maybe not
 
My 98 was doing the same thing, trunk would open and panic button but no lock/unlock. Then after awhile everything quit working (door locks and trunk release still function fine with the buttons in the car. Tested both fobs at the dealer and both were good with strong signals. I'm thinkin its the reciever in the trunk that's gone bad (hopefully). Either that or a bcm issue. When I actually have some free time at my shop ill see if I can figure this out and post what I find...
 
I Have a 2004 Grand Prix GTP and i had my Transmission rebuilt and a shift kit put in and when i got it back my key less entry wasn't working. when i press the lock button are the panic button it honks but it doesn't do anything.. You can hear a clicking noise inside the car when you press the button also...
Please Let Me Know If Anybody Has A Idea Of Whats Going On.. Are How To Fix It....

My 2006 Grand Prix has something funny going on as well. When I try the auto start feature, the panic option goes off! I haven't auto started the car in over a year. Why would it do that? It does, lock and unlock.

I had this same problem, and I was told by the dealer it was a BCM problem and they said it would be a couple hundred dollars to fix so I said screw it, I can live without a keyless entry.... But I went to Autozone and found an aftermarket system and hooked it up and it works like a charm. It was a Bulldog Security Keyless Entry. It was like $40. Works perfectly. But it only comes with 1 relay. You need 3 to use everything. One for the trunk, one for the parking light flash, and one for the starting disabler (I think that's what it's called?) But you really only need 1. I used it for the trunk because it's the most important... To me at least.
 
I bought an eBay fob and it wouldn't work properly. Bought one at the dealer and it worked like a charm. So I would try a factory fob first before you go replacing BCMs and what not.
