I just had a run in with a Subaru. The transmission struggled to move from first to second. It just seemed to stick in first… waver… and then drop into second. In the past I have noticed that first seemed to hold a bit too long but nothing like this. Current mileage is 70K.
 


How about asking if it actually THREW a code first?

If not...maybe it is time for a pan drop and new filter/Dexron VI fluids and a cheapo shift kit to help it out.
 
how would he kno if he didnt scan first? when i had my tranny nightmares it never threw a SES.. stored in PCM i do believe ;)
 
Just because it isn't shifting right doesn't mean its a stored code either...maybe the transmission just needs serviced.
 
i was just stating the cheapest easiest thing to do first, if its a bad solenoid theres no need for a service until that problem gets solved.
