First runs at the strip

Alright, not sure where to post this. But here seems like the best spot~

I finally got around to going to the strip with my '97 GTP. I was always so curious, wondering how it would do agenets factory 1/4 times. No mods other then a home depot intake.

So, first run, 15.4 - little slow but it was my first run ever had at a drag strip.
Second, 15.2 - Better, still a bit slow
Third, 15.01 - Ok, now I am happy.
Fourth, 15.7 - Spun the right tire all the way through 1st - oops.

So after that fourth run it was time to dial in the times. Guy comes around and I say 15 flat. Then about a half an hour goes by and it was a collldd day. So finally they get everyone going again and I get up to do my run.

Now the end of this run was kinda funny cause I always had the car in 2 on my runs since I noticed it shifts early in 3. And every run I would finish just before the rev-limiter kicked in. Not this time, and I was like "wait wut?"

14.6@98

So like, wow. First time i could ever be upset that my car went faster (and broke out of my bracket) but I sure am proud to see all 110k miles didn't slow it down one bit!- I also went again next week and ran pretty consistent 14.8's all day (walking all over a late 90's convertible Mustang GT that just couldn't hook up or shift), with one 14.7 before the bracket kicked in. I Can't wait to see how much the new plog and Downpipe will help.

Now a question, anyone have problems with those magnaflow cats?

I used one of ZZP's catted DP's with no problem, heh, its actually up for sale right now.

Although you may throw a SES code since it is a high flow cat.

Well crap! I already ordered the parts this morning. - And yah I know about the SES code, a thought came into my mind about that as I was making this topic - with the 1/4 times I got, my current cat must be rather new :th_liar: Doh.

Ok, next Q then. How are those O2 simulators? XD

(ah gotta go to bed now, its late)

Haha, well atleast you get a good greeting when you wake up from this.

O2 sims rock.

I've had the one from ZZP on for...pushing 2 years now. Never had a problem.

Only thing, if you get it, dont just plug it in under the car, run the sensor wire back up into the engine bay, that way the plug wont get any water in it, or rocks....lol
Mines curled up and zip tied behind the coolant res.
